Kyoto - March 15th, 2003
Here we are in Kyoto, hanging out, doing nothing much. We went to a Japanese Starbucks, saw a big temple, walked about a million miles, and even saw the inside of a few Kyoto bars.

This poor bicycle got dumped in the river.
High tech parking... of course, it's pink ...
An anti-war demonstration by the Kamo River.
Here's Ben getting a kick out of some leg warmers. You can't see it in this picture, but they actually have little pockets on them.
A motorbike from before the dawn of time.
Octopus tentacles in sauce, available at your local Kyoto covered market.
Fish heads at the covered market.
Crabs ... and ... big raw fish testicles (that stuff that kind of looks like brains) ... sensing a "wierd seafood" theme here?

Ben in Gion. It's in the middle of the afternoon, so there's nobody around.
A cute little street corner in Gion.
At Yasaka Shrine.
A nice statue.
Ben walking out of the shrine.
More shrine paraphanalia.
A house with a pine tree growing out of it, and a nice traditional Japanese tile roof.
A trip to Kyoto wouldn't be complete without a girl in a kimono, riding in a rickshaw, now would it?
