A Day at the Races - May 4th, 2003
I got invited to go to the Japanese horse races, or "keiba" as it's called here.
Click on a photo to enlarge it.
There weren't enough seats, so everyone was sitting on the ground on newspapers and plastic sheets.
Everyone stood up to watch the horses run.
Here's me about to bet 200 yen on some horses.
Jason placing a bet at the betting machines.
Thisis what the bet ticket looks like. You can see on the right hand side that I've placed 2x 100 yen bets.
The bleachers were packed.

Some interesting fashion news - the girl in front is wearing a shirt that is totally open in the back, and underneath it, another shirt.
Waiting for the race to start.
About a million photographers totally mobbed the place after the race ended.
The winners' circle.
Here's us, and a hat that makes me look funny.
Walking back to the train station through the chaos.
