Kyongsu and I stayed up most of the night geeking laser show stuff, these pics are of the new and extra-improved DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter) board, which lets the computer talk to the laser scanner amplifier.

oooh, artsy shiny solder points!
A soldering action shot
Kyongsu solders some parts onto another board
278 degrees celcius ... my favorite soldering temperature
Kyongsu in action
Me in action ... that blue mess of wires on the circuit board was real fun to think about...
Tonight, California ... tomorrow ... the hospital, getting treated for severe electric shock ... ha ha just kidding ... no geeks were harmed in the making of this DAC board.
The completed board, chip sockets, capacitors and reistor banks soldered on
Testing the board with the aid of the schematic diagram
Installing the ICs into the board
The finished DAC board! Those pins on the left connect it to the parallel port
a simple grid scan test, before we tuned the amp (and before we turned on blanking support in the software)
