I was invited to go out to dinner with some of the teachers at my school, and they took me to a place called Shin-Imamiya. A very interesting night it was, as well as some very interesting food ...

One of the first things we saw when we got there was a covered market.

We ate dinner at this crazy restaurant that only served cow parts ... like organs and stuff... here is the guy that cooked them for us.

Mr. Matsuda had a slightly different idea of good eats ... this is intestine and stomach, both of cow, one very raw ... oh boy oh boy...

That's right, this is a big ol' plate of raw cow stomach, sliced just right, in orang-ey Japan sauce, with sliced green onions on top. Appetizing?

Name your poison ... we got intestines, we got stomach, we got kidneys and liver ... we got tongue and heart ... cow parts? We got 'em!

This is a room full of guys playing "go", or in Japanese "igo".

As if we didn't see enough wierd food tonight, here's a stand selling dried snakes and turtles ...

According to Mr. Matsuda, this sign for "Zuboraya" is pretty famous ... have you ever heard of it?
